It is important to get your child’s eye checked once within the first six months of the child’s birth and rectify the issues and get treated as soon as possible. It has been studied that the optic nerve connecting the eyes to the brain is still developing and if any prevalent disease is not treated on time, there could be a permanent disconnect between the eyes and brain, eventually leading to total blindness. Hence there’s a possibility that the child gets visually impaired for the rest of his/her life.
